Yvonne J. Retzler, 80, of North Catasauqua, died Sept. 28, 2017, at home. She was the wife of the late John N. Retzler.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late C. Harold and Thelma (Walker) Stengel.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Kutztown University.

She was an elementary teacher in both the Catasauqua and Southern Lehigh school districts for many years until she retired.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Catasauqua.

She was a past president of both Women’s Club of Catasauqua and Lehigh County Federation of Women’s Club.

She is survived by a son, Scott and his wife Sherry of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Annette Filler of Coopersburg; six grandchildren, Erin and her husband Jake Rankin, Kristen and her husband Joseph Gualtieri, Ashley Retzler, Andrew and his wife Samantha Filler, Nicholas Filler and Timothy Filler; and seven great-grandchildren, Aiden, Olivia, Addison, Giovanna, Lily, Rocco and Hailey.

She was predeceased by a son, Mark S. Retzler.

There will be a visitation 6-7 p.m., followed by a memorial service 7 p.m., Oct. 4 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua.
