National Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 9-13. There will be extra activities at the elementary buildings and special guests, including Whitehall Township Fire Department.

Students will also take part in some fire prevention and safety programs.

Gockley Elementary School’s picture day will be Oct. 11. Students will be bringing home a detailed order form for parents to review and return along with payment.

Zephyr Elementary School’s skate night is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 12 at Skateaway, Lehigh Street, Whitehall.

Whitehall Marching Zephyr Band will be hosting Music in Motion Oct. 14 at Zephyr Stadium. This event will showcase marching bands from around the area, including Northampton Area School District’s high school and middle school, Louis E. Dieruff High School, Catasauqua High School and, of course, Whitehall High School.

The Whitehall Chorale leads off with the national anthem 5:55 p.m., and the first performance begins 6 p.m.

Food will be available for purchase as well.

There is an admission cost.
