Richard W. Kline Sr.
Richard W. “Dick” Kline Sr., died Sept. 21, 2017, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital.
The son of Ralph and Helen (Kleppinger) Kline of Allentown, he graduated from Allentown High School in 1952, and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, serving four years.
After leaving the Military, he earned his Associate degree as an electric technician.
He met his wife, the former Rita Kulhamer in 1956, and they were married May 10, 1958.
They made their home in Whitehall and raised four children.
He was a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church.
He was a technician for business machinery for 40 years.
His passion was golf but his greatest passion was his grandchildren.
He was their biggest fan, attending golf tournaments, softball games, dance competitions, field hockey, graduations and more.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sons Richard (Patricia) Kline Jr. and Robert (Sarah) Kline; daughters Renee Kline and Rochelle (Gary) Sapienza; grandchildren Richard W. III, Ryan and Kasey Kline, Gabrielle and Paige Sapienza; goddaughter Stacey Paige; brothers Ralph Kline of Willow Grove, Kenneth (Kathleen) Kline of Pottsville: numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by sisters Ruth (Charlie) Spalding of Allentown, and Doris (Bill) Katkowski; and sister-in-law Marion Kline.
His Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Father John S. Pendzick 10 a.m. Sept. 29 in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the church foyer.
Interment will be private in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
