LYNN TOWNSHIP: Historical society to celebrate Pioneer Day

Lynn-Heidelberg Historical Society will present its annual Pioneer Day Festival from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7.

There will be food, demonstrations of different skills and militia demonstrations.

There will also be Native American lore and music, with a jazz band performing at 1 p.m.

This family friendly event will take place rain or shine.

Jacob’s Church, New Tripoli, will host Community Day 4-8 p.m. on Sept. 30.

There will be live music, tractor show, children’s games, pie baking and grilling competitions.

The Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile will be accepting blood donations.

Also, if interested in participating in competing in the pie or grilling competition or both, call Jimmy to register at 610-698-6637.

Awards will be given for most popular tractor and top prizes in the pie baking and grilling competitions.

Additional food will be available for purchase.

Ebenezer UCC, New Tripoli, is sponsoring a bus trip 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 7 to Sight and Sound Theater.

Ticket includes bus fare, an all-you-can-eat lunch at Hershey Farms and show ticket.

St. Peter’s Lynnville, UCC is having a basket social 1-3 p.m. Sept. 30.

Ticket drawing starts promptly at 3:15 p.m.

A ticket for the basket raffle includes 25 tickets and a door prize ticket.

Extra tickets will be available for a small fee.

A goody bag will be given to the first 50 ticket buyers.

In addition to the basket raffle, there will be craft vendors to browse and hot dogs, baked goods, snacks, water and soda.

There will also be a kids activity area with cornshucking, bean bags, and face painting and saw dust digging, weather permitting.

A special honey bee education session will be offered and local honey will be available for purchase.
