Whitehall-Coplay Middle School’s meet the teacher night is 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight, Sept. 28. Plan to come and check out all the great things happening at WCMS this year. Visit your child’s classrooms and meet their teachers.

There will be representatives from the PTO and lots of extra activities that evening as well.

Looking ahead, please note there will be no school Oct. 9, as a professional development day for teachers will be held.

Drop-off and pick-up procedures at all buildings are very important to follow. Parents/guardians, please adhere to each building’s procedures, which ensure students’ safe arrival and departure from school.

Homework requests can be supplied if your child is absent from school for three or more days. Parents/guardians can call the school to request homework, which must be picked up in the main office before 4 p.m.

Parents/guardians are reminded that a written note must be given to their child’s teacher within three days upon returning to school after an absence. The best method is to write a note promptly on the day of return. Include the date, child’s name, teacher’s name, a specific reason for the absence and parent’s signature.

If no excuse note is received within this three-day period, it is considered an illegal absence. When there are three or more illegal days without notes, parents/guardians will be required to appear before the magisterial district judge on truancy charges. This is a school district policy.

Breakfasts are now being served at the school buildings. The cost is $1.60. There is a reduced price for those who qualify.

Whitehall-Coplay School District has an anonymous tip line for anyone who believes a student could be in danger from another person or from himself/herself. If you are aware of a possible situation, leave a message at 610-435-4638.
