Flapjacks fundraiser at Applebees in Trexlertown 8 to 10 a.m. to benefit The Knauss Homestead. There is a cost. Officers, board of directors and Homestead members will serve.

Members of the Lehigh Valley and surrounding community are invited to an inspirational day of music, comedy and art at the second annual RockSoberFest at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 N. Poplar St., Macungie. The event is co-sponsored by Livengrin Foundation and other area treatment providers and seeks to end the stigma of addiction by celebrating the contributions of people in long-term recovery. The event is free, rain or shine, and will be held 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be food, music, comedy and children’s activities. Entertainment includes local musicians Tim Harakal, Hydraulic Lime, Wycked Sober and stand-up comedy from nationally-known comedienne Liz Russo. Winners of the scavenger hunt will have a chance to win prizes donated by area businesses including a Wegman’s gift card basket and a signed lithograph of Antonio Brown donated by the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Young Musicians of the Allentown Music Club will host an open audition and recital program 2 p.m. at Hope UCC Allentown. New members are welcome. The event is open to kids six to 18 who are currently studying with a private teacher and wish to showcase their talents on a musical instrument and/or voice. Girls on the Run – Lehigh Valley’s second annual “run-a-thon” to help generate funds for scholarships for area students who want to participate in the program but may not have the financial resources to do so. The event will be held 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Steel Fitness in Allentown and will feature 12-hour-long exercise classes. There is a cost. Girls on the Run is a non-competitive, physical-activity based youth development program that encourages girls to be healthy and confident through running. Emmaus Historical Society program 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall, Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody will guide the audience down the untamed frontier trail, talk about his exciting adventures as a Pony Express rider, Army scout, bison hunter and internationally acclaimed showman. Veterans Day program 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Lower Macungie Community Center co-sponsored by the Lower Macungie Township Historical Society, Macungie Historical Society and Macungie VFW Post 9264. The speaker will be Richard Buss, a retired Navy captain and a native of the village of East Texas, who will present “The Four Chaplins” - the story of four Army chaplains who volunteered their services during World War II.

The Children’s Ball, “Journey to Oz,” a Wizard of Oz theme, will be hosted by Community Services for Children at Lehigh’s Mountaintop Campus, 6 to 9 pm.
