A week before the high school football season hits the halfway mark, some playoff races are starting to take shape. Whitehall kept itself among the top of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference with a win Friday night, while Liberty also stayed in the hunt by beating Northampton.

Liberty-Whitehall

The Zephyrs cruised to a 41-13 win over Liberty.

Ethan Parvel passed for 172 yards and rushed for 103 yards in the win. He threw two touchdown passes and ran for three scores to keep his team unbeaten at 4-0.

Nasir Legree ran for 172 yards and both Liberty (1-3) touchdowns.

Northampton-Freedom

The Patriots beat Northampton 26-13.

Jared Jenkins threw for 298 yards and a pair of touchdowns, completing 17 of 32 passes. Alec Huertas (7 receptions, 107 yards) and Gabriel Caton (3 catches, 83 yards) both caught touchdowns for Freedom (3-1). Abdul Beasley (12 carries, 87 yards) and Jalen Stewart ran for Patriot touchdowns.

Northampton (2-2) was led by Tyrese Brandon with four carries for 73 yards and a score. Hunter Wacik had 67 yards on 17 totes with one touchdown.

Saucon Valley-Catasauqua

The Panthers beat Catasuauqa 49-21.

Zach Petiet ran for 121 yards and a pair of touchdown for Saucon Valley (3-1), which saw five different playrs get into the end zone.

Andrew Brett threw for 162 yards for Catty (2-2), going 17-for-27 with a touchdown and an intercpetion. Derrick Rodriguez ran for 116 yards and a touchdown, while teammate Wil-Quon Clemons ran for 92 yards and a score. The Roughies’ Miguel Hernandez caught five passes for 65 yards, while teammate Corey Raysely caught six passes for 55 yards and a touchdown.

Bangor-Salisbury

The Slaters out-lasted the Falcons, 12-6.

Bangor’s Joey Schrader had 93 rushing yards and a touchdown in the win. The Slaters (2-2) amassed 237 rushing yards in the game.

Salisbury’s Lucas Irwin caught two passes for 51 yards in the game, including a 26-yard touchdown from quarterback Cam Vaka (8-for-16, 165 yards) Oliver Stewart also had 51 receiving yards on a pair of catches for the Falcons (2-2)
