Robert Dennis, of South 5th Street, appeared before Upper Milford supervisors again last week to complain about logging operations at 4930 S. Fifth St. Dennis said he understands the person doing the work has received a permit, but asked whether he is a certified forester, as township regulations require. Dennis said he found no evidence of his certification online.

Dennis has complained about this activity more than once in the past couple of months and sent a detailed letter with his concerns to the township planning commission. He asked why the permit was apparently issued without answering the questions he raised.

“I’m quite disappointed in this process,” he said.

Supervisors Chairman George DeVault assured him they are looking into it.

In other action Sept. 7, supervisors approved an ordinance to place stop signs at three railroad crossings in the township – at Dillingersville, Acorn and Scout roads.

Supervisors also announced two events taking place Sept. 25:

•A public hearing 7 p.m. in the Lower Macungie Township Community Center to hear comments on the final draft of the Southwest Lehigh Multi-Municipal Comprehensive Plan. The plan will be available for review beginning 6:30 that evening.

•The Joint Environmental Advisory Committee and the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy will hold a rain barrel workshop 7 to 8 p.m. in the Upper Milford Township building. There is a cost. Registration information is available on the township website.
