UPPER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP: Upper Mac offering emergency response classes

Upper Macungie Township, in partnership with Lehigh County Emergency Management, is hosting a free 20-hour community emergency response team training program 6-10 p.m. Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 at Cetronia Ambulance Corps, 4300 Broadway, South Whitehall Township.

This training program is designed to help participants protect themselves, family, neighbors and their neighborhoods in an emergency situation.

Registration must be made by Sept. 19.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township, is offering a discussion on social media at its Plugged Into Tech series 9 a.m. on Sept. 14 and Intro to Apps Sept. 21.

The library staff will be showing the James Bond 007 movie “Tomorrow Never Dies” at 1 p.m. Sept. 19 and “Casino Royale” Sept. 26.

Senior Craft Day will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 20. All materials and instructions provided.

Senior yoga for fall prevention will be presented by yoga instructor Karen Klubertanz of Five Paths Yoga 10:30 a.m. Sept. 21.

Spend an afternoon with slinky and toy enthusiast Bob Swaim for an entertaining look at nostalgic toys 2 p.m. Sept. 22.

Join the staff from the Center for Vision Loss and learn how to keep your eyes healthy and functioning during the Digital Eye Strain program 1:30 p.m. Sept. 25.

Learn the basics of playing the ukulele 2 p.m. Sept. 28.

Tricia Shimkus will explain how to deliver effective presentations at her Tricia Talks: Transformation Tuesday event 7 p.m. Sept. 26.

The library will be hosting baby story time for kids birth to age 2 10:30-11 a.m. every Monday starting Sept. 25.

Older siblings are welcome to attend.

Toddler story time for kids 18 months to age 3 will be offered 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday starting Sept. 26.

There will be stories, songs and rhymes.

Preschool story time for kids 3-5 is scheduled 1-1:30 p.m every Wednesday and Thursday starting Sept. 27.

A caregiver must remain in the library.

Bedtime music and movement for kids ages 5 and under with a parent or caregiver will be offered 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21.

Kids ages 5-12 drop by the library after school to create a Perler bead magnet from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Sept. 15.

Legos and games for kids in first grade and higher will be offered at 4 p.m. Sept. 25.

Kids are invited to build with Legos, hang out with friends or play with the library’s collection of board games.
