Upper Macungie

The Upper Macungie Township Police Department is again hosting its Community Police Academy 10 a.m.- noon Oct. 14, 28 and Nov. 11.

This is a community event that offers our citizens an opportunity to learn more about your local law enforcement and the roles those involved play.

The course is offered free of cost to participants.

Slated presenters this year are: UMTPD’s K-9 unit, Lehigh County Drug Task Force, Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Lehigh County Municipal Emergency Response Team, tour of the Lehigh County Jail and one to be announced presenter.

The class is limited to 30 adult participants and Upper Macungie Township residents will be granted first priority seating.

Twenty participants will be afforded the opportunity to tour the Lehigh County Jail and there will be no alternate class/event for the remaining 10 classmates.

All applicants will be subject to a background check (open source documents), which will be considered in eligibility to participate.

Completed applications are due no later than noon Sept. 29.

All applicants shall be notified if they are selected to participate.
