250 attend Energypath 2017 at DeSales

Approximately 250 students, professors, and industry professionals attended The Energypath 2017 conference in the Gerald White Conference Center, DeSales University, Center Valley, Upper Saucon Township.

John Costlow, president and CEO of Sustainable Energy Fund, said he hopes that Energypath 2017 “inspired students, professors, industry professionals, policy makers and energy users alike to examine their impact on the environment and their contributions toward a sustainable future.”

“The Energypath 2017 conference was a success,” said Kelly Sanders, Program Leader of Education at Sustainable Energy Fund and coordinator of the Energypath Conference.

The Keynote Dinner included the Keynote Speech presented by Dr. Eric Woodroof, who spoke about 2017 climate data and market trends, and the awarding of the Epstein Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Vera Cole, Program Officer for the Energy and Sustainability Policy programs at The Pennsylvania State University.

The conference included breakout sessions, an Expo, and a Middle & High School Science Fair.

The breakout sessions featured speakers such as Mark Szybist from the Natural Resources Defense Council and Joe Soldano and Mike Merchant from Worthington Energy Innovations.

One of the highlights of the conference was the Zero Emission Credits panel discussion, which featured panelists from all sides.

The Science Fair featured projects by middle school and high school students. The winners of the science fair, which were announced during the Keynote Dinner, received cash prizes ranging from $250 and $1,250.

Energypath 2017 was presented July 27 by Sustainable Energy Fund and was sponsored by West Penn Power Sustainable Energy Fund, Community Energy Solar, Berkshire Asset Management, UGI Utilities, and The Stone House Group.
