The Macungie Farmers Market is open 4 to 7 p.m. every Thursday through October. The market features local farmers providing home grown fruits, vegetables, meat products, eggs, baked goods, plants and more. Parking is available at the park parking lot and along North Walnut Street.

Solomon’s United Church of Christ, 82 S. Church St., Macungie, will hold a Polka Mass with the Heidelberg Brass Band 10:15 a.m. Sept. 10. The liturgical service will have Christian lyrics with polka, waltz and march tunes.
Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Russ Rentler will perform songs from his new CD 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Macungie Institute. He will be accompanied by Judy Terwilliger and Brenden Hackett on fiddle and bass, respectively. Tickets are available at the door.

Ben started middle school this week and so far has posted mixed reviews on the experience. As he rode to school with his dad, he observed, “I don’t want to go to high school. Then you have to get up even earlier than for middle school.”
He continued, “I like summer vacation. I wish it was summer vacation all the time. I used to have it so good, but then Mom enrolled me in pre-K.”
