Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, New Tripoli, is starting its church year with a rally day Sept. 10.

Service begins 10 a.m. and will feature contemporary, uplifting music with praise songs.

Bring a friend or relative for “fill the pews Sunday.”

There will be a social with cake and coffee following the service.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, is accepting orders until Sept. 10 for its hoagie sale.

Pick up is 4-6 p.m. Sept. 19.

Choose between regular with everything or no onions or peppers, ham and cheese, turkey, roast beef, tuna or veggie.

Hoagies supplied by Thomson’s Meat Market, Walnutport.

The church will have its last summer picnic of the season 4-9 p.m. Sept. 9 in the church grove in Leather Corner Post, Orefield. Rain date is from 1-6 p.m. Sept. 10.

Music will be by the Midnight Special band.

There will be cakewalks, children activities, a raised cake and pie sale and basket raffle with proceeds going to the church.

Food available for purchase includes hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue, sausage, sandwiches, soup, french fries, soft drinks, ice cream, cake and candy.

Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville, is hosting a swing into the school year event with fun crafts, games and activities Sept. 2.

Princess Belle will be making a special appearance 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sing and take photos with guests courtesy of Joanna Bertalan of Professional Singing Princess.
