Good Shepherd Catholic School, Newport Avenue, Northampton, will open its door for students Aug. 28 as it begins the 2017-18 school year.
The school has a total enrollment of 267 boys and girls, preschool through eighth grade - a strong emphasis that registrations are continuing, which could bolster the numbers reported.
There are 18 full-time teachers aboard. John-Paul Crescenzo, M.Ed., is the principal.
A new science lab awaits the students, along with computer courses with high-tech devices.
The core curriculum will include religion, science and computer skills as basic studies.
The school is involved with CYO fall sports, which has cross-country, kindergarten through eighth grade, and girls volleyball, grades 5 through 8. Registrations are now being taken.
Good Shepherd comprises the parishes of Queenship of Mary, Northampton; Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Northampton; St. John Fisher Church, North Catasauqua; Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Egypt; St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Stiles; and St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay.
