District news: Students start school Aug. 28
The first day of school in the Whitehall-Coplay School District will be Aug. 28. It is very important students begin the school year on time to learn classroom orientation and routines. Parents and guardians are requested to consider this when making vacation arrangements.

Updating student information is very important. Parents and/or guardians received a letter this summer that reminded them to go online and update student’s information. This will include all phone numbers, emergency contacts, email addresses, text numbers and permission for field trips and photos for the 2017-18 school year.
Please read the information very carefully and update your child’s information by today, Aug. 24.

There will be no school Sept. 1 and 4 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Please note the guidelines for school lunch charges and refunds. For grades K-12, if a student’s lunch account balance is zero or negative, the student will be permitted to charge a lunch. All unpaid charges must be paid at the end of each week. Any unpaid charges may result in administrative and/or legal action necessary to collect delinquent accounts.
Parents, sign up at myschoolbucks.com to monitor your child’s lunch account balance and purchases. Parents can also set up a low balance reminder by email. Simply download the ”myschoolbucks” app to your phone and be able to check lunch balances any time. The district will no longer be sending home low balance envelopes.
Delinquent accounts may be turned over to the magistrate.

The school district has an anonymous tip line for anyone who believes a student could be in danger from another person or from himself/herself. If you are aware of a possible situation, leave a message at 610-435-4638.
