Name that color:Crayola, the iconic crayon maker, is looking for help in deciding on a moniker for its new blue crayon. Jacob Robb, above, has fun with Crayola’s retiring “Dandelion” color crayon at Easton’s Crayola Experience where the six-year-old and his mom, Vicki, were visiting. Crayola announced March 31 that it would be weeding “Dandelion” out of the mix and replacing it with the yet to be named blue crayon. The Easton-based company received nearly 90,000 name submissions for the new color, which is based on a brilliant blue pigment discovered in 2009 by scientists at Oregon State University. Crayola has narrowed it down to five names: Dreams Come Blue, Bluetiful, Blue Moon Bliss, Reach for the Stars, and Star-Spangled Blue. Vote until Aug. 31 for your choice on Crayola’s website. Prizes are offered. Crayola is a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Kansas City, Mo. Information: crayola.com.
