Sniscak receives Employee of the Month award

Lauren Sniscak was lauded by Northampton Exchange Club at its June 9 dinner meeting, held at Northampton Banquet & Event Center, as Northampton Area High School’s Employee of the Month for May - a program initiated in September.

Sniscak, a mathematics teacher at the high school, was presented a framed certificate on being chosen as the outstanding faculty member.

At NAHS, Sniscak, in addition to her math teaching assignment, is the high school’s Student Council adviser. Members of Student Council recently raised $6,620 at their Mini-THON event for Four Diamonds Fund.

This past season, she served as the junior varsity game day and varsity cheerleading competition co-coach; her team placed third of 13 squads in the EPC competition. Sniscak previously coached junior varsity cheerleading for two years at Parkland High School. She taught math previously at Whitehall High School.

A Temple University graduate, Sniscak is currently enrolled at Kutztown University, pursuing a master’s degree in instructional technology and expects later to earn a second master’s in educational leadership.

In the nominations for the Exchange Club tribute, colleagues said Sniscak goes above and beyond as a teacher and Student Council adviser, spending “an amazing time and effort” in her role and other numerous school-related functions.
