Our time at Camp Cementon has sadly come to an end. This was an action-packed week, which consisted of lots of games and even a movie.

On Monday, we had to stay inside due to the rain. The campers all did a scratch-off art project. This craft was a lot of fun to complete, with the campers scratching their different designs onto the black paper, which revealed various colors underneath. When the craft was finished, the campers enjoyed free time and then a game of Dodgeball.

Tuesday was the field trip to the Roxy Theater for the new “Captain Underpants” movie that all campers loved! Everyone changed into their bathing suits for a game of Drip Drip Splash, which is a fun twist on Duck Duck Goose, except with water. After the game, we all went to the pool for a nice swim.

Wednesday consisted of Fastest in the West, where all campers are “it,” and it is every man for himself. We also played SPUD. We then played the all-time-favorite camp game of Dodgeball. Since it was so nice, we opened the garage doors in the building to allow for a nice breeze during lunch. The day ended with swimming at the pool.

Thursday was pajama day, and it was awesome to see all of the cool pajamas. It was a very nice day with lots of outside games. We played Seek and Hide, Silent Ball and Four Square, all outside. The campers came inside for a nice, cool game of Four Corners and then finished the day with Paper Plate awards and freeze pops.

Friday was the saddest day of the summer. Jefferson and Cementon camps all spent the day together at Camp Cementon. There was a wonderful lunch provided by Sam Owens, and everyone went to the pool together.

Our Campers of the Week were Natalie D. and Chase C. Our Campers of the Summer were Cienna S. and Brader B. Awesome job, nuggets!

The Cementon counselors, as well as myself, would like to wish all of the campers who are transitioning to Jefferson the best of luck. You will be missed! We would like to wish everyone the best of luck in the new school year, and we will see you all again next summer!
