Aug. 12

The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is conducting a clothing and more drive 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Salisbury Middle School, 3301 Devonshire Road, Allentown. Items to be collected include clothing and shoes, accessories, household items and toys. VCR tapes, CDs, books, box televisions, monitors, car seats, oversized playsets or outdoor playsets will not be accepted. Aug. 16

Alburtis Area 55+ seniors meet noon at Alburtis Rod and Gun Club for a pot luck luncheon (hot dogs provided) plus bingo. Many bus trips are also scheduled. For more information, call 610-966-4996.

Aug. 17

A free informational session on adoption and child foster care will be held 6 p.m. Aug. 17 at Diakon Adoption & Foster Care, located on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, One S. Home Ave., Topton. People interested in attending the session are asked to call 888-582-2230 or 610-682-1504 to register. Diakon Adoption & Foster Care staff will explain foster parenting as well as the processes involved in adopting a child. Attendees also will learn about children available for adoption as well as the foster-to-adopt program and a new service providing foster care for medically fragile children.

Luther Crest will host a free public concert by the Macungie Band 7 p.m. at the senior living community, 800 Hausman Road. The band will perform a variety of patriotic music, Broadway hits, movie tunes, overtures, classics and more. People interested in attending are asked to bring a lawn chair. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in Crest Hall in the senior living community. Because seating is limited, people interested in attending are asked to call Luther Crest at 610-398-8011.

Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society 25th Anniversary Celebration.
