New volunteers welcome
COUNTY 4-H
Lehigh County 4-H Club is seeking volunteers.
When you volunteer to become a 4-H leader, you reap so many rewards, not only for yourself, but also for 4-H members and your community.
With the wide variety of programs offered through 4-H, you can get involved in an activity or club that interests you and develop your skills, while you enrich the lives of the youth you work with.
Why should you consider becoming a leader?
• You are needed to help youth become better citizens.
• You will learn a great deal about young people, leadership and yourself.
• You will enjoy serving and making friends with young people through 4-H.
• You can share your skills, talents and hobbies with young people.
What kinds of leaders are there?
• Organizational leaders are key to organizing and directing the 4-H group or club.
• Project leaders teach 4-Hers in specific project areas.
• Activity leaders guide 4-H members with demonstrations, exhibitions, recreation and other tasks.
• Teen leaders assist the leaders by helping the younger 4-Hers with projects, activities and various tasks.
• SPIN (Short-term groups with a SPecial INterest) Club leaders share their passion, skill or talent with young people. 4-H SPIN clubs meet on a schedule convenient for you and when young people are available. SPIN volunteers plan for a minimum of six sessions. Schedules are adaptable, but clubs usually meet once a week for six weeks, twice a week for three weeks or on longer Saturday sessions.
What topic areas are looking for new leaders?
• Equine
• Shooting sports
• Gardening
• Drones
• Small animals
• Any topic you would like to share!
You may commit as little as six hours or commit for years. Our SPIN Club leaders average 10 hours to provide a very meaningful experience to young people. You will work with the 4-H staff in Lehigh County, who will provide you with the training and resources you will need to successfully deliver the program you choose.
