It was Hawaiian theme at Camp Jefferson last week, so the campers got to wear their craziest Hawaiian shirts. Our craft this week was tie-dyeing. The campers brought in all kinds of clothes to experiment with, including a pair of shorts that turned out pretty awesome.
Monday’s weather was great for the campers. We played a couple outside games including Capture the Flag and Fastest “It” in the West. Then we headed inside to cool off and play the campers’ favorite game, Fortress Dodgeball.
On Tuesday, the campers were showing up to camp extremely excited to head to our field trip - CamelBeach. The weather was a little rainy on the way up to CamelBeach, but it held off, and we even got a little bit of sunshine later in the day. All the kids had a blast going on the slides and hitting the wave pool after lunch.
Wednesday and Thursday mornings looked like they were going to keep us inside all day because of the drizzles and the damp ground, but after doing the craft and playing some games inside, like Jump the River and Hand Ball, the sun came out, and we could enjoy our day at the pool.
We finished the week with a sunshine-filled Friday full of outside games that the campers chose. Before going to the pool, we announced the campers of the week. Congratulations, Evan and Maliah!
We hope to have great week of weather next week for an even better week seven!
