The Angels Against Alzheimer’s walk team is a local group of people who for years have committed themselves to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event.
They are sponsoring two activities this year.
One is a benefit softball game to be held at Patriots Park, 1027 Wyoming St., Allentown, Aug. 20. The rain date is Aug. 27.
This softball game will feature a team from WFMZ/Channel 69 vs. Patriots Old-Timers Slow-Pitch Softball Team.
The festivities will start 6 p.m.
Gates open 5 p.m.
This game will be a double-header; admission is free with donations accepted.
Along with the baseball games, the Angels Against Alzheimer’s walk team will have a basket social and bake sale.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from the donations, basket social and bake sale will benefit The Alzheimer’s Association for research.
The second major activity will be the Lehigh Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Sept. 30 at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.
Again, the Angels Against Alzheimer’s walk team will be one of the teams making that walk and seeking sponsors.
The Angels Against Alzheimer’s team members are all from the Lehigh Valley and have had experiences with family or friends stricken by this insidious disease.
