The Allentown Community Concert Association ACCA has apparently suspended its 2017-18 season.
Concerts were presented in the auditorium of Parkland High School, South Whitehall Township.
The Press left a telephone message for ACCA Executive Director Georgia Chomicky, of South Whitehall Township, but the call was not returned as of deadline.
Nicole Mehta McGalla, director of Community Relations and Development, Parkland School District, stated in a July 14 email to The Press of ACCA, “So far, they have not scheduled anything.”
According to the IRS website, ACCA lost its nonprofit tax exempt status and had its 501(c)(3) tax exempt status revoked Sept. 15, 2016.
Notice of revocation was posted Dec. 12, 2016, on the IRS website. ACCA’s federal tax exemption was revoked for not filing Form 990-series three consecutive years.
According to nonprofitfacts.com, ACCA’s net assets or fund balances were $83,762 in 2013; $92,178 in 2012, and $116,592 in 2011.
Allentown Band Conductor Ron Demkee said that The Allentown Band was to perform in an ACCA concert in September.
“I’m really disappointed,” Demkee said. “We were looking forward to playing.”
