Board silent on noise rules

The continuing saga of equipment noise in the township was on the Weisenberg supervisors agenda once again.

Residents crowded into the township meeting room to see if the ordinance would be adopted that night.

Supervisor Linda Gorgas told the audience the ordinance was not up for adoption that night and no action would be taken by the board.

She explained the board had a sample ordinance for review.

Julie Frankie said she posted the ordinance on Facebook and was pleased supervisors did not adopt it.

She also had questions about the ATV ordinance and said she would discuss the matter with Administrator Brian Carl.

The Golden Key Travel Center final plan was given to supervisors for review.

Mike Preston of Liberty Engineering and Attorney James Preston represented the developer.

They stated they are awaiting review letters from several outside agencies.

Supervisors decided to table the plan until the improvements and maintenance security proposals were approved.

Bruce Obyle complained about the loud noises emanating from the Waste Management facilities.

Administrator Carl will contact Waste Management to see if anything can be done to alleviate the problem.

Brian Carl, wearing his fire chief’s hat, stated the fire company answered 92 calls so far this year.

He also noted the brush truck should arrive next month.

The road crew is currently oiling and chipping township roads and also helping neighboring municipalities.

The maintenance period for West Hills Court has expired.

Keystone Engineers and Roadmaster Anthony Werley will inspect the project and if found suitable, Solicitor Don Lipson will prepare an ordinance to proceed with the takeover of the road.

The ordinance could be adopted at the August supervisors’ meeting.
