LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Camp Jefferson: Kids take trip to FreeFall park

This week at Camp Jefferson, we were at our max capacity of 50 campers! The campers enjoyed a dual field trip with Camp Cementon, a variety of games, the craft of the week and especially the pool because of the extreme heat that we received last week.

On Monday and Tuesday, we played a variety of games, such as basketball, a Kickball tournament, Four Square, Handball and everyone’s favorite, Dodgeball. The campers also got to make the craft of the week, origami.

Wednesday morning both Camp Jefferson and Camp Cementon loaded up on the buses and went to FreeFall for our weekly trip. FreeFall is a large indoor trampoline park that has a number of activities for the campers to do, such as jumping or doing flips into a large foam pit, jousting, mechanical bull riding, trampoline Dodgeball and trampoline basketball. Both camps enjoyed our field trip and are excited to revisit again next year.

During the last two days of camp, the weather became more inhospitable because of the heat and humidity. With the weather not on our side, we played a game called Splash Out and had a water relay race. Splash Out is a water trivia game. The campers are broken up into three or four teams, and when a camper answers the trivia question correctly, they chose another camper from a different team to have water poured on their head. That camper is then “splashed out.”

Lastly, our Campers of the Week were Lucas and Elizabeth.
