Alvernia University
Macy Storm, of Bath, has been named to Alvernia University’s dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester. To be eligible for the dean’s list, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits. Storm studied communication at Alvernia and is a graduate of Northampton Area Senior High School.

Kutztown University
Kutztown University has conferred degrees on more than 1,200 students during the winter and spring semesters. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish their requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The cumulative GPA necessary for honor distinction is with honor (cum laude), 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude), 3.60; and with highest honor (summa cum laude), 3.80. Emma, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gehringer, is eligible for this honor by maintaining a 3.4 GPA or higher.

The College of Saint Rose congratulates Jenna Hopper, of Northampton, for being named to the dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester. Hopper is one of 704 students to achieve this mark of academic excellence. To make the dean’s list, Hopper had to complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester GPA of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail.

Boston University awarded academic degrees to 6,045 students in May 2017. Among the graduates was Branden A. Weghofer, of Northampton, who received a Bachelor of Arts in economics.

Castleton University
Joseph Beal, of Bath, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Castleton University, Vermont, following the successful completion of the spring semester in May 2017.
The second graduating class of Castleton University passed across the stage at its 230th commencement ceremony May 13, bringing to close the 2016-17 academic year.
Castleton University is small enough to be a community where every student matters yet offers more than 75 programs of study for undergraduate and graduate students, 29 varsity sports and over 40 clubs and organizations. Stevenson University student Christina Endy, of Whitehall, was recently inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success. The NSLS has over 730,000 members country wide, from over 500 institutions. Their mission is “to help people discover and achieve their goals. The society offers life-changing lectures from the nation’s leading presenters and a community where like-minded, success-oriented individuals come together and help one another succeed.
