South Whitehall Township Police responded around 3:22 p.m. July 18 for reports of multiple gunshots and an aggravated assault at the Econolodge, 1151 Bulldog Drive, South Whitehall.

Police were told the suspect had fired several shots from a handgun with the rounds striking several vehicles and a nearby building.

One man received multiple lacerations on his head and scalp from being “pistol-whipped” by the suspect, police say.

The man was treated by Cetronia Ambulance Corps personnel and transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing red sweatpants and a white sleeveless T-shirt with “graffiti” type writing on it.

He was last seen walking toward Crackersport Road.

Police say the area was checked by officers from several assisting agencies.

The suspect has not been located as of this time and the investigation is ongoing, police say.
