LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Camp Jefferson: Making waves at Camelbeach

It was a patriotic week at Camp Jefferson last week, including our theme of red, white and blue. The Fourth of July holiday broke up the camp week, giving us four days to have fun. Monday was a great day for campers. The weather cooperated, and we played some of our favorite games, such as Capture the Flag and Manhunt. We also played a new camp favorite, Fortress Dodge Ball. It’s dodge ball with obstacles to hide behind. Campers have seemed to enjoy the new offshoot.

Coming back on Wednesday after our holiday off on Tuesday, campers were gearing up for our trip to Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. But before we could go on Thursday, we had some basketball games to play, as well as making some flags for the campers who chose to do the craft for the week. The afternoon was spent at the pool swimming and having fun.

On Thursday, the weather looked like it wasn’t going to cooperate for our trip to Camelbeach, but not long after we arrived in the Poconos, the clouds burned off, and it became sunny and humid. We had perfect weather after all. The kids had a blast going on the various slides and especially enjoyed the wave pool.

Friday looked like it was going to be a washout. With the downpours in the morning, it hampered what we could do with the kids outside. Games were played inside as we voted for camper favorites to play. By lunch time, the skies had cleared, and we headed to the pool. With the attendance at the pool still low because of the weather, we had an opportunity to play water polo with all of the kids. We all had fun!

This week’s campers of the week were Ankush and Sophia. Congratulations to you both!

We hope to have an even better week four!
