Deron K. Youse was installed as the 136th president of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association at their 2017 convention in Pocono Manor.

Organized in 1881, PFDA is one of the largest state funeral director associations in the nation.

Youse, a lifelong resident of Kutztown, graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1984.

He received an Associate degree in Funeral Service Education from Northampton Community College, Bethlehem.

Before entering funeral service, Youse served as a paramedic and police officer, and has had a lifetime of service to others.

Youse is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown, and is currently serving as treasurer and former secretary of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 839, Kutztown.

He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Topton Community Ambulance, and is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, where he formerly served on the Board of Directors as District 6 Governor.

Youse serves on the Berks County Funeral Directors Association, where he currently serves as treasurer, and the Eastern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association.

Youse resides in Kutztown with his wife Wendy.

Youse is the Supervisor of the Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., facility in Kutztown, and has been a part of the Ludwick Funeral Home staff since 1989.
