Several Parkland High School graduates made an impact on college sports teams during the past spring season.

Sophomore Sophia Castillo appeared in seven games for the Colorado women’s lacrosse team. She tallied five goals and two assists in that span, including a 58.3 shot-on-goal percentage.

Juniors Dylan Klusaritz and Josh Pope recently capped their third seasons for the Chestnut Hill College men’s lacrosse team. Klusaritz, an attacker, appeared in all 13 games and scored 24 goals (tied for second on team). He added 15 assists, which was good enough for second for the Griffins. Pope also played in all 13 games, which included four starts, and recorded eight goals and seven assists for the 8-5 Griffins.

Gabe Mosser emerged as one of Shippensburg’s top pitchers this past spring season. He appeared in 13 games, went 8-5 on the bound, and allowed just six runs over his final four starts. He struck out 86 batters in 2017 and only walked 25, as the Raiders went 31-24-1.

Mackenzie Galli, a sophomore midfielder on the Virginia Commonwealth University women’s lacrosse team, played in 17 games this past spring. She recorded five ground balls and one goal in four starts.

Sophomore pitcher Connor Higgins appeared in 19 games for Arizona State this past spring, fourth most of the Sun Devils’ pitching staff. As a relief pitcher, he went 3-2 on the mound with a 3.92 ERA and four saves. He struck out 34 batters opposed to just 15 walks.

Grand Valley freshman Sarah Stagaard played in all 17 games on the women’s lacrosse team and started in the final 12. As a midfielder, she scored 17 goals (ranked fifth on team) on 32 shots. Her 84.4 shot on goal percentage is the top spot of players with 10 or more goals.
