Dr. Betsy S. Swope, assistant professor of psychology at Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC), has been selected as a member of the second American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) “40 Under 40 Class.”

Dr. Swope was recognized at the AAWCC annual meeting April 24 in New Orleans for her efforts to create, innovate, lead and make a difference at LCCC. She is president of the college’s Faculty Association. She serves in the Academic Council and leads an accreditation task force on governance, leadership and administration.

She is on the boards of the Executive Education Academy Charter School, Southeastern Pennsylvania Autism Resource Center and the Eleanor and James Latta, Jr., Scholarship Foundation.
