A 21-year-old Allentown man was found unresponsive 9:34 p.m. on June 24 in his cell at Lehigh County Jail, 38th N. 4th St., Allentown.
According to a Lehigh County Office of Public Information release, Trevor Vaden, 1650 W. Turner St., who did not have a cell mate and was not under any special monitoring precautions, was discovered by a Lehigh County corrections officer performing routine rounds.
The officer declared a medical emergency and began administering CPR.
Medical personnel assisted and responding paramedics continued treatment. Vaden was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:06 p.m.
According to the release, the cause of death was an apparent suicide.
Vaden was committed to the jail April 20 for a parole violation on an original charge of robbery.
Lehigh County First Deputy Coroner Eric Minnich told The Press on June 28, the manner of Vaden’s death was suicide.
