The Emmaus Police Department recently received a generous donation from the Todd M. Schmoyer Memorial Fund which was used to purchase a new police bicycle from South Mountain Cycle, Emmaus.
The bike shop has outfitted the Emmaus Police with bicycles in the past.
Officer Todd M. Schmoyer was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash Sept. 12, 1997. Schmoyer was a part-time officer for the Emmaus and Macungie police departments at the time of his death. Donations to the Todd M. Schmoyer Memorial Fund have provided 20 years of scholarships to a student from Emmaus High School where Todd was once a student.
The memorial fund made a donation to the Emmaus Police Department for the purchase of a new bicycle that will be used by Al Kloss, school resource officer, to patrol the Emmaus High School campus.
