State Police Bethlehem Troop M responded to a fatal vehicle crash just after 5 p.m. June 14 on Route 22 East, South Whitehall Township.
According to police, Jonathan E. Flook, 60, of Coplay, was traveling in the left lane when he apparently lost control of his 2003 Ford Taurus, which struck the concrete barrier with the left side of the front bumper.
Police say Flook attempted to steer off the concrete barrier and the car traveled from the barrier onto the off ramp at 15th Street.
The car continued eastbound, traveling over the guide rail and into a field where the car came to rest.
Cetronia EMS responded to the scene.
According to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim’s office, Flook, of 42 S. 2nd St., was pronounced dead 6:07 p.m. that night at 15th Street by Deputy Coroner Jason Nicholas.
An autopsy was performed the next day.
The cause and manner of his death are pending toxicology studies.
