As part of its “Steam Heat Tour,” Viktorija Gecytee and the Go Trio returns to Miller Symphony Hall for two sets at 7:30 p.m. June 16 in the Rodale Community Room in the “Jazz Upstairs” series.

The concert marks the fourth consecutive year the group has performed at Miller Symphony Hall and the ninth year of collaboration for the artists. Concert-goers can expect to hear jazz standards and tunes from the American Songbook.

Viktorija Gecyteehas been singing since her childhood in Lithuania where she often performed on television shows. She was a scholarship student at Lafayette College. Gecytee lives in Paris and performs in Europe as well as the United States.

Go Trio members include Gene Perla, bass; Sean Gough, piano, and Nicholas Cacioppo, drums. Trumpeter Ben Seacrist joins the trio for the tour as featured artist.

Perla attended Berklee School of Music and Boston Conservatory and has played with such luminaries as Sarah Vaughan, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra. Perla is a faculty member at The New School and Lehigh University.

He first met Gecytee at Easton’s Cosmic Cup and later became intrigued by “the way she can deliver a song and really tell a story.”

Perla say she’s “one of the best singers you’ll ever have the opportunity to experience. She makes it real.”

Gough received a BA from Lafayette University and an MA from Rutgers University. He teaches at Lafayette.

Cacioppo played his first gigs in Philadelphia and went on to study in the Jazz Performance Program at William Paterson University.

Seacrist is the 2016 winner of the International Trumpet Guild Jazz Improvisation Competition. He is studying for a degree at The New School.

The Miller Symphony Hall performance concludes the East Coast portion of the “Steam Heat Tour.” The Go Trio then heads to California where it performs through June 20 and to Europe from July 15 through July 20.
