Student school board reps give final report for year

Student representatives Elizabeth Fornauf and Paige Stitzel began their final report to the Northwestern Lehigh School Board with sports.

In track and field, the girls finished 9-2 overall and placed sixth in the Colonial League meet.

The boys had an 8-3 overall record and placed seventh in the Colonial League meet. Trevor Cunningham broke both the 100- and 300-meter Northwestern hurdle records for the season, the two representatives told the board.

Baseball was 11-7 in Colonial League play and reached the semifinals of leagues by defeating Southern Lehigh 11-10. In softball, the overall win-loss record was 12-6. They reached the semi-finals of leagues by defeating Wilson in the first round but then lost to Bangor 8-7.

The science team placed eighth at the State Science Olympiad competition.

Anthony Vennera and Ryan Terrell placed in the top third with their helicopter; Austin Stasko and Tanner Klotz placed second in the top three with a hovercraft.

They also congratulated Meghan McGorry for receiving a Freddy nomination for Outstanding Performance as a Female Ensemble Member.

School board directors thanked the two young ladies for attending all the meetings.
