Several members of the first Parkland High School senior class met May 10 at the Hops at the Paddock, South Whitehall, for their 67th reunion.
This was the first class to graduate from the recently renamed South Whitehall High School as students from North Whitehall wanted a more neutral name.
A contest was held and the winning name, Parkland, was submitted by Mary Lou Urffer.
The high school in 1950 was at what is now the Troxell building, North Cedar Crest Boulevard, South Whitehall.
