STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. In what grade are you?

A. I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science. I love learning about how the Earth functions and I believe it is important for everyone to understand the inner workings of the planet they inhabit. Earth is our only home and humans must educate themselves to ensure the future of life on the planet.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been on the Principal’s Honor Roll for every semester of high school. I received the Academic Excellence award each year of high school. I am a member of National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. My group placed fourth at the National History Day state-level competition my freshman year. I received the Players Player Award for boys cross country for my senior season.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I have been a member of the cross country and track and field teams for all four years of high school. I am a member of the fitness team, Future Business Leaders of America and Pediatric Cancer Club, which included participating in Shave for the Brave.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I will be attending the University of Vermont Honors College to pursue a degree in either biology or environmental science.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge has been overcoming running-related injuries I have had over my high school running career. Recovering from an injury requires great patience, discipline and hard work. All of my injuries have been great setbacks but have made me a much stronger person.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as an honest, dependable, disciplined and motivated person. I would also like to be remembered as an inspirational leader on the cross country and track teams and a good friend.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My parents Christopher and Christina, my sister Katie and my dogs Cali and Bella.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my parents, sister, coaches and teammates. All of these people have been supportive, inspirational and amazing people I am extremely grateful to have in my life. I take inspiration from all of them to better myself as a person.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Take full advantage of every opportunity you have in life that will bring you happiness and help you become a better person. Be yourself and live a life that you are proud of.
