LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q: What grade are you in?

A: I am a senior this year at Salisbury High School.

Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?

A: English is currently my favorite subject in school, but I also love any class that involves music.

Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A: I am a member of National Honor Society and I have received the Collaborative Leadership Award for coordinating our blood drives. I was nominated for a Freddy Award and am very excited about it!

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A: Yes! I was captain of our varsity field hockey team, I act in the fall play and spring musical and I’m in a few clubs in school too. I am a part of student government (Falcon ambassador), No Place For Hate, literary club (vice president), Descant Get Enough (A cappella group) and am a peer mediator. I also am in charge of coordinating our school’s blood drives.

Q: What is your next goal after high school?

A: I will be attending Temple University in the fall to study communications and possibly add a minor in theater. I am very excited to see what the future has in store for me.

Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

A: I would have to say that my biggest challenge has been trying to balance schoolwork along with my extracurriculars. Once I commit to something I like to see it through to the end. My schedule got pretty busy at times but I tried to fill it only with things that I enjoyed so it didn’t seem like it was too much. It’s important to not always say yes to things. Alone time and time with family are just as important as all of the other things.

Q: What do you want to be remembered for?

A: I hope I will be remembered as being a good friend and being someone that anyone could come talk to if they needed something.

Q: Who is in your family?

A: I live with my mom, Lisa and my stepdad, Rod part time. I also live with my dad, Joseph part time. I have a sister, Carly who attends college, a brother, Aaron who lives in California and a stepsister, Devan who also lives in California. I also live with my dog, Nova and my pet bunny, Alice.

Q: Do you have someone you look up to?

A: I look up to a few different people in my life. My mom is definitely someone that I look to and admire. She is a strong woman who I very much aspire to be like. My other role models include my theater directors Will Erwin and Nina Elias. They have shaped me into the person I am today with their amazing, supportive personalities and their persistence to push me to do things I was not confident enough to do before I met them.

Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?

A: I want my peers to know that they should always be themselves, no matter what. Sometimes people feel pressure while in high school to act a certain way. I think it’s important to always stay true to what you believe. Also, be there for each other and support one another.
