Graveside Memorial Day services will be conducted by the Macungie V.F.W. Memorial Post No. 9264 at the following locations: 10:15 a.m. - St. Peters Union Church Cemetery, 11 a.m. - Macungie Fairview Cemetery, Macungie, 11:30 a.m. - Solomon’s Church Cemetery, Macungie, noon - Old Zionsville Zion’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Old Zionsville, 12:30 p.m. - Bethany United Methodist Cemetery, East Texas.

Flag Raising and Placing of Wreath Ceremony will take place at the Macungie Memorial Park, Veteran’s Memorial 8:30 a.m. The Macungie Memorial Day Parade will begin at the William A. Shoemaker Elementary School 10 a.m. The parade route follows East Main Street (Route 100) from Fairview Street to the Macungie Memorial Park Bandshell. Following the parade, the 69th annual Macungie Memorial Day program will be conducted at the Macungie Park Bandshell at approximately 10:45 a.m. The guest speaker is Borough of Macungie Mayor Gary W. Cordner. A memorial service will be held noon at the Lehigh-Northampton Vietnam Veterans Memorial, 287 Lehigh St., Macungie. All are invited to remain for free refreshments following the memorial service. In the event of rain, the parade will be cancelled and the Memorial Day services will be held in the Macungie Memorial Park auditorium, 50 N. The 27th annual Stanley H. Roth Master’s Golf Tournament will take place 8 a.m. at Allentown Municipal Golf Course, 3400 Tilghman St., Allentown. Registration is now open. This year the outing is supporting the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund by donating a portion of the proceeds. The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund provides immediate and long-term support for post-9/11 injured and critically ill members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.

The Alburtis Police Department and the Alburtis Area Community Center will host a first responder/military appreciation day to honor and support local heroes.
