Allentown Central Catholic High School received a school record of eight Freddy Award nominations May 11 for the spring musical “Anything Goes.” The show received nominations for outstanding costuming, choreography, chorus, production number and production by a small school. Sophomore Dylan Brown was nominated for outstanding male ensemble member for his role as Elisha J. Whitney and senior Abby Garza received two nominations, one for her solo vocal performance of “I Get a Kick Out of You” and the other for outstanding actress in a leading role.

The academic and music awards ceremony will take place May 17 in Rockne Hall. Members of academic and musical teams, clubs and bands will be recognized and honored, and many of the musical groups will showcase their talents for the school. Family members are welcome to attend the 9:30 a.m. ceremony, which will last for approximately an hour.

The recently elected student council members for the 2017-2018 school year will be inducted 9 a.m. May 18 in Rockne Hall. Congratulations to President Jake Roma, Vice President Hannah Adams, Treasurer Nick Patruno and Secretary Madison Faust.

The spring band and chorus concert will be held 6 p.m. May 20 in Masson Auditorium.

Senior exams are scheduled to begin May 22. The last day for the senior class is May 26.

Central Catholic will be closed May 29 in honor of Memorial Day.
