UPPER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township, is hosting a block party for kids ages 2 and older with an adult 6 p.m. May 13.

Youngsters are invited to play with the library’s new block collection.

The library staff will show the movie “Julius Caesar” at its Brown Bag Classics at 1 p.m. May 15.

Bring a lunch and the library will provide beverages.

Bring tablets, smartphones or devices and explore some great online resources and tools all available for free through the library at its Cool Online Tools event 5 p.m. May 16.

Book Quest will meet 7-8 p.m. May 16 to discuss the novel “The Paris Architect” by Charles Belfoure. New members are welcome to attend.

Kids in sixth through 12th grade are invited to create candy sushi at the library’s Teen meeting 6:30-7:30 p.m. May 18.

The library will host “Games We Love” from 1-2:30 p.m. May 19.

Have fun playing bridge, pinochle, canasta or chess.

The library will be conducting Summer Teen Volunteer interviews between 10 a.m. to noon May 20. Download an application from the library’s website.

Looking for new ideas for homemade art and craft projects, then come and join the Craft Project Club 2 p.m. May 22.

All needed materials will be provided.

Join the library’s writing workshop “What’s Your Story” 3 p.m. May 23.

Learn how to write your own memoir.

Unleash your creativity at the Joy of Coloring class 3 p.m. May 24.

The library staff will provide the coloring pages and pencils.

Bring knitting materials and spend an afternoon swapping knitting tips and tricks with the Knitting Circle at 2 p.m. May 25.

The Friends of the Library’s porch book sale will take place 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 22.

There will be over four tables of books to choose from.

All these programs are free and held at the library.

Registration is needed to attend the Brown Bag Classics, Cool Online Tools, Book Quest, Teen Meet-up, Games We Love, Crafty Project Club, What’s Your Story and Joy of Coloring and summer teen volunteer interviews.

Good Will Fire Company No. 1, Trexlertown, 7723 Hamilton Blvd., Breinigsville, is cooking up breakfast 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 14.

Breakfast includes two eggs, choice of two meats (bacon, ham, sausage and Mackerel) and one to three pancakes.

There will be a yard sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 20.

Upper Macungie is offering adult basketball for adults ages 21 and older 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday nights until June 8 at Jaindl Elementary School, 1051 Weilers Road, Breinigsville. Equipment is provided.

The township is accepting application for its 2017 Junior Emergency Services Academy.

The academy will take place 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from July 17-21 at the Upper Macungie Station 56.

Enrollees must be township residents who are 12 to 16 years old by July 17.

The Junior Youth Group at Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will host a tea and flower event for moms, aunts, grandmothers and their girls 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 13.

The event will include potting plants and enjoying tea and snacks.
