The 25th anniversary of Stamp Out Hunger, the nation’s largest one-day food drive, is set for May 13. The National Association of Letter Carriers, assisted by Teamsters Local #773, Keenan House and Northampton County Probation Department volunteers, will collect non-perishable food donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania and its agencies.
Sealed, non-perishable (no glass containers) donations, in a sturdy, clearly-marked bag, should be placed by the mailbox before regular delivery on May 13.
Needed are non-perishable food items including cereal, peanut butter, pasta, rice, tuna and canned soup, fruits, or vegetables. Non-food goods, such as diapers, shampoo, toothpaste and soap are requested.
