Lehigh County Executive
Vote for one - 4-year term
Democrat Phillips Armstrong, of Whitehall Township, is unopposed in the primary. He will face the successful Republican candidate from the May contest in the November general election.
Two Republicans, Glenn Eckhart, of Salisbury Township, and Brad Osborne, of South Whitehall Township are seeking the Lehigh County Executive seat.
We asked each Republican candidate the following question: Why should the residents vote for you?
Glenn Eckhart
“I am the only proven Conservative running for County Executive. I have a record of cutting government spending, keeping taxes low and reforming pensions. I am running because the taxpayers of Lehigh County deserve an advocate. This election comes down to this, more action and less rhetoric. I walk the walk when it comes to my conservative credentials. I don’t just talk about it come election time. In addition, I am the most experienced candidate running and experience matters! I ask for your vote for me, Glenn Eckhart, for Lehigh County Executive in the Republican primary on May 16.”
Brad Osborne
“This election is about who is most prepared to lead Lehigh County into the future. The citizens deserve an executive with a proven record of results in the private and public sectors. My business management experience and public service leadership position me to provide innovation, accountability and transparency to county government.
“As a plant manager/small business owner, I have successfully managed multi-million-dollar budgets. As an experienced legislator, I understand the challenges that taxpayers face every day. I led our county board of commissioners to cut taxes four of the past five years and returned over $27 million to the taxpayers.”
