Lehigh County Commissioner

Vote for one - 4-year term in each district

District 1 - Democrat Bob Elbich will face Republican Marc J. Grammes in the primary election.

District 2 - Democrat Shoaib Chaudhary will face Republican Percy H. Dougherty in the primary election.

District 3 - Democrats Basilio Bonilla Jr., Dennis LeRoy Pearson and Amy Zanelli will seek to be on the Democratic ticket for the November election. The winner will face Republican Robert E. Smith Jr., who is running unopposed, in November.

District 4 - Democrat Geoffrey Brace is running unopposed.

District 5 - Republicans Nathan Brown and John Donches are seeking the Republican seat. We asked both candidates to answer the following question: Why should residents vote for you?

Nathan Brown

“Lehigh County District 5 needs a commissioner that has the experience, leadership and public service to represent the different municipalities. My 10 years on Emmaus Borough Council has proven that I have the skills and leadership to represent our residents. I will change county processes and keep the spending under control but also make sure we honor our seniors by continuing valuable services such as Meals on Wheels and Cedarbrook Nursing facilities. District 5’s interest are agricultural and land preservation, small business support, public safety and keeping taxes low. Your interests are my interests. I ask for your vote.”

John Donches

“As a private citizen I have worked to better our community. As president of E-Flow, we prevented Emmaus Council from selling our public water system to a private company. I spearheaded the ‘Strike-Out the Stadium’ initiative, preserving Emmaus Community Park as open space for all citizens, saving Lehigh County and EPSD each $300,000. I helped convince Lehigh County Commissioners to deny corporate welfare to ‘Hamilton Crossings Mall,’ preserving $1.3 million of revenue. I will continue to ensure that every dollar spent by the county is for your needs, not special interest wants. I ask for your vote.”
