Emmaus Borough

4-year term

Republican Lee Ann Gilbert is running unopposed.

Council

Vote for not more than three - 4-year term

Democrats Roy D. Anders Jr. and Shana Baumgartner are seeking a seat on council as well as Republican Brent Labenberg.

Tax collector

Vote for one - 4-year term

Republican Dennis Gouldy is facing Republican challenger Bernadette Jerry in the primary election. We asked each candidate the following question: Why should residents vote for you?

Dennis Gouldy

“For 37 years Emmaus is my home. My three kids all delivered newspapers in the borough and they all worked part time for Emmaus businesses. My wife, Debbie, is a 26-year volunteer crossing guard and she’s worked the polls on election day for at least a few decades. Besides various volunteer activities, I served four years on council and 11 years as tax collector. I love this town and its people. And I know this job - I’ve done it competently and enthusiastically for almost 12 years. Experience counts. Please remember me again on election day.”

Bernadette Jerry

“Casting your vote for Bernadette Jerry, Emmaus tax collector, will be voting for change and progress. I will share over 30 years of bookkeeping, financial management experience and expertise with you, the taxpayer. No one likes paying taxes (including me). However, I would like to make it a positive experience. I am vibrant, approachable and take my work seriously. I want to serve my community and feel utilizing my education and bookkeeping experience is the best way to contribute. Please consider change. Please consider Bernadette Jerry, Emmaus tax collector, on May 16.”
