Lebanon Valley College
Braxton Kocher, of Bath, and Benjamin Fisher, of Whitehall, presented scholarly or creative work at Lebanon Valley College’s annual Inquiry Symposium April 27.
Kocher, a graduate of Northampton Area High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in digital communications. He won third place in the digital communications category.
Fisher, a graduate of Whitehall High School, is pursuing a bachelor of arts in political science.
Nearly 150 undergraduates representing academic departments across campus displayed their work to an audience of faculty, peers, trustees, administrators, industry representatives and friends of the college during the symposium. Student work included original research scholarship and creative efforts. This year, representatives from area businesses, industries and agencies judged student work in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, psychology and digital communications.

St. Joseph’s University
Vidhiya Jothiraman, of Whitehall, a graduate student at Saint Joseph’s University, was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the national business honor society during the spring 2017 semester. Over 130 graduate and undergraduate students from the university’s Haub School of Business were inducted into the honor society.
Founded in 1913, Beta Gamma Sigma’s mission is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business and personal and professional excellence in the practice of the business.

Tori Ward, of Whitehall, was recently recognized by Lebanon Valley College as part of the successful team behind VALE Music Group this year. Ward, a graduate of Whitehall High School, is pursuing a bachelor of music in audio and music production.
VALE Music Group is an umbrella company consisting of four sub brands: VALE Records, VALE Media Industries Conference, VALE Live and VALE Publishing. These student-run organizations provide students experience in the music industry, marketing, videography, event planning, public relations, music recording, production, finance, sales and design. Each brand is expansive and gives students the ability to use their talents in multiple different ways in a fast-paced environment.
The annual student-run VALE Media Industries (formerly Music) Conference included panelists representing video and film production, music recording, musicians, journalism, web design and development, and additional media areas. Since its inception in 2005, the conference has incorporated numerous improvements and continually explores new ways to attract attendees.
VALE Records is a student-run branch of VALE Music Group LLC, located within the college. It began during the spring semester of 2013 as an interdisciplinary one-credit class, IDS 199, meeting one hour a week. At the beginning of this spring, the student-run class separated into groups in charge of recording, publicizing, marketing and preparing its newest artist Sam Machin for the release of its record and performance at ValleyFest. An EP from the trio is the label’s fourth record release.

Zac Edwards, of Catasauqua, was recognized for academic achievement at Lebanon Valley College’s spring awards and recognition ceremony. The ceremony recognizes excellence in natural sciences, social sciences and humanities.
Edwards, a graduate of Catasauqua High School, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in accounting and business administration and won the following award: Financial Executives International Award, Central PA Chapter.
The spring awards and recognition ceremony was part of the college’s Inquiry 2017 activities, which celebrated the scholarly, scientific and creative achievements of the student body. More information is available at lvc.edu/inquiry.
