Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will stage its annual country sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m. May 6.

The event includes a community yard sale, both inside and outside the church.

There will be a book sale and Santa’s Attic, which includes Christmas and other holiday items for sale.

Here’s a chance to stop by the geranium stand and purchase plants for your garden or Memorial Day displays.

Union UCC cooks will be serving up homemade soup, barbecues and various sides for your lunch time enjoyment.

Come early for the best selection of items at the homemade baked goods table.

Best of all, come for a festive spring day of fun and fellowship in our North Whitehall community.

Union UCC is accepting registrations for the 2017 VBS program, Maker Fun Factory, which will run June 26-30.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, will celebrate Festival of the Christian Home on Mother’s Day, May 14, during the 10:15 a.m. worship.

The service aims to celebrate the life and faith of all types of families.

The Keenagers will meet at St. John’s UCC noon May 16.

Pastor James Gottwald, the church youth minister, and other adults worked together on a recent Saturday for three hours to pick up trash on a 5-mile section of Route 145.

They filled 45 garbage bags, in addition to collecting some large items such as a television set, tires, big pieces of wood, and a street sign knocked over by a snow plow.

The heavily traveled road through the Laury’s Station area is now a brighter, cleaner place.

The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, will have a sale of soup, sandwiches and baked goods on Election Day, May 16.

Four kinds of soup will be prepared, as well as sticky buns and breads.

To be sure of getting what you want, place an order in advance by calling Julie at 610-262-7749.

Soup will be available in quarts for takeout.

Julie is accepting orders for homemade sticky buns which will be available for pickup May 21 and 22.
