The Macungie Farmers Market will hold its 11th season grand opening 4 to 7 p.m. May 18. The market features local family farmers providing home grown food: fruits, vegetables, meat products, eggs, baked goods, plants and more. The Farmers Market will be open 4 to 7 p.m. every Thursday through October except Aug. 24. Parking is available at the park parking lot and along North Walnut Street.

The Parkland Art League will hold its next meeting at the Macungie Institute 7 p.m. May 9 with acrylic artist Aryn Coyle demonstrating her painting in heavy textures and bold colors, using gel mediums. Relay for Life will be held 4 p.m. May 5 through 4 p.m. May 6 at Macungie Memorial Park. Relay For Life is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to raising funds for American Cancer Society for its cancer education, programs, advocacy and research.
There will be a Lehigh Valley Bird Expo 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6 at Macungie Memorial Park.
There will be a Heroes Helping Heroes Blood Drive and Pet Fair event noon to 5 p.m. May 7 at Macungie Memorial Park.
There will be a GM On Display Car Show on May 7 at Macungie Memorial Park.

The Mid-Atlantic Cavy Breeders Association Show will be held May 13 and 14 at Macungie Memorial Park.
There will be a Latex Paint Recycling Event for Lower Macungie Township, Alburtis Borough and Macungie Borough residents 9 a.m. to noon May 13 at the Lower Macungie Township municipal building. Habitat Lehigh Valley will recycle the paint into a product called “recolor.”

Macungie Rod and Gun Club will hold its annual children’s fishing contest 8 a.m. to noon May 20 at Swabia Creek behind Allen Organ. Each registered child receives a hot dog and soda. Arrive early to register.

Grace Lutheran Church, 28 W. Main St. will host a Dixieland Jazz service 10:30 a.m. May 21. The Dixieland All Stars will perform under the direction of Kevin O’Connell, retired director of the Eyer Junior High Band. The Macungie Minstrelaires will also perform.
