Event will feature a light lunch, homemade baked goods, flea market items, plus a variety of flowers to purchase and will be held rain or shine in an enclosed pavilion. Emmaus Historical Society will accept yard sale donations during regular museum hours. Also May 7, 13 and 14. If unable to bring items during those times, call the museum at 610-966-6591 to make a mutually convenient drop-off time. Donations will not be accepted after 2 p.m. May 14.

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network will offer a free stroke screening event 9 a.m. to noon at the Health and Technology Center, 850 S. 5th St., Allentown. The public is welcome to attend. Screening stations are available to assess fall risk, glucose and cholesterol, blood pressure, height and weight values, as well as health and wellness education with personalized stroke risk assessments. Emmaus Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5th and Chestnut streets. There will be an election of board directors, followed by the program by Bill Barto on “The Emaus Band Goes to War-Part II.” The Emaus Band, led by John Z. Iobst, marched to Doylestown in September 1861 and enlisted in the 104th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment. Part Two will answer the question of where the band was while the regiment was under heavy attack at the 1862 Fair Oaks battle. For more information, call 610-966-6591.
